Greetings Citizens of Alamo,

My name is Bobby Salinas, I am currently serving as the City Manager for the City of Alamo. I wanted to introduce myself to the community and give you a brief history of my professional experience.

I am a graduate of Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School and the University of Texas Pan American with a Major in Political Science and a Minor in English.

I began my career in public service with the City of San Juan back in June, 1997, answering phones in the City Manager’s Office. I transferred to the San Juan Planning Department in 1998 where I learned every administrative position in the Planning Department ranging from Inspections Clerk, Planning Technician, Planner I, Planner II, and ultimately becoming the City’s Interim Planning Director in November, 2006. I later decided to transition to a larger City and ended up leaving San Juan in March, 2007 to become a subdivision coordinator for the City of Mission. After two years, I was promoted to be the City’s Assistant Planning Director in October, 2009. In late 2014, I decided to apply for the City of Alamo’s Planning Director position and was hired on December 1, 2014. In June, 2019, the City’s long time City Manager, Mr. Luciano Ozuna, decided to retire after 19 years with the City and I was appointed as the City Manager, where I currently serve the great citizens
of Alamo in this capacity.

I hope to continue to serve the Citizens of Alamo and I am optimistic that we will continue to prosper as a community.
