The Communications Department serves as the voice of the City of Alamo, responsible for informing, engaging, and connecting residents with their local government. Through digital media and public outreach, the department ensures that accurate and timely information is accessible to the community.
Beyond sharing information, the department plays a key role in telling the story of Alamo, highlighting the people, projects, and progress that shape the city. By combining clear communication with visual storytelling, the department helps build transparency, strengthen community trust, and create a deeper connection between the City and its residents.

The City of Alamo hosts multiple events throughout the year that bring the community together and encourage resident participation. These events are an opportunity for families, local businesses, and organizations to connect, celebrate, and be part of the city’s vibrant community life. Some of the City’s signature events include the Watermelon Festival, held on the second Saturday of May; Freedom Bash, celebrating Independence Day; and the Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting, a festive tradition that marks the holiday season. Residents and organizations interested in participating or getting involved in upcoming events are encouraged to contact the City’s Event Coordinator for more information.
