As part of the Sgt. Fernando De La Rosa Memorial Library’s Alamo Community Literacy grant, the Alamo City Commission has proclaimed the 5th of every month as Alamo Literacy Day! With this, we are asking EVERYONE, including businesses, to stop and silently read for 15 minutes the 5th of every month. Known as the 5:15 activity, we will be asking everyone to join us in increasing the literacy activities in our community and share their pictures while doing so. Please encourage your family, friends, neighbors, children and visitors, to join us every 5th of the month to read for 15 minutes. Send your pictures to lsoils@alamotexas.org or upload them to city events FB page or library FB page.
