Mayor Diana Martinez would like to challenge @cityofsanjuan Mayor Mario Garza and @cityofpharr Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez to encourage their communities to join the It’s Time Texas Community Challenge.
This is the 2nd year the City of Alamo is joining forces with the Pharr San Juan Alamo Independent School District to take on the It’s Time Texas Community Challenge sponsored by H-E-B! The challenge is an 8-week competition that unites and mobilizes schools, businesses, organizations, community members, and mayors toward the common goal of transforming their community’s health. This year the challenge will be taking place from Jan. 7th through March 5th, 2019. It is a great opportunity to grow even closer as a community family, plus it helps us make healthy choices and teach our children to do the same. If our community earns the most points in our size category, we will receive a $1,800 grant to put towards future health-related projects at our schools and bragging rights!
