Three Athletes Recognized

During City Commission meeting on December 21st, 2021, the Alamo City Commission recognized THREE outstanding Alamo youths, Lizbeth Retiz, Sidney Retiz and Issac Rodriguez.
Lizbeth and Sidney Retiz make up Team Retiz and they have earned several recognitions for their boxing abilities.
Lizbeth is a 2 time Junior Olympic Champion(2017), a Junior Olympic State Champion (2017), a USA Boxing National Champion (2019), a Golden Gloves Regional Champion (2021) and the current State Golden Gloves Champion (2021 ).
Sidney is a 2 time Regional Junior Champion (20 19), a 2 time Regional Golden Gloves Champion (2021), a Texas Game Champion (2021) and the cunent Golden Gloves Regional Champion (2021).
lsaac Rodriguez was honored for his football achievement. Isaac has played football since he was 6 years old and cunently is a Senior at PSJA Memorial Early College High School where he played wide receiver and running back for the mighty Wolverines. He received District 16-5A Division II 2021 Offensive Honorable Mention and was chosen to represent
Wolverines with the Rio Grande Valley Coaches Association All-Star West team. Some of lsaac’s stats for his senior yards: A total of 50 rushing carries, earning 342 yards and averaging 6.8 yards per carry & scored 3 rushing touchdowns; earned a total of 11 receptions, gaining 62 yards and averaging 5.6 yards per play & rushing for 2 touchdowns; had a total of 8 kickoff returns, gaining 153 yards with an average of 19 yards per retun; and earning the highest number of touchdowns in Wolverine history.
